Guardian Limited Warranty

Your Guardian products are covered by a limited warranty. This page explains how the warranty works, what’s covered, and how to make a claim.

What is the limited warranty and what does it cover?

We are proud to offer a lifetime warranty on all frame defects and a one-year warranty on all component defects.

The warranty starts the day the bike is delivered. It only covers manufacturing defects that already existed upon delivery, and it’s only available to the original owner of the bike and cannot be transferred. If replacement parts aren’t available in your original color, we’ll offer you an appropriate alternative.

Guardian Bikes will cover any associated spare parts and repairs for successful warranty claims.

What isn’t covered by the warranty?

Here’s a few examples of what we don’t cover:

  • Third-party components
  • Accidental damage caused by a collision, drop or similar external force
  • Wear and tear
  • Damage from improper assembly, installation, or use
  • Damage from unauthorized modifications or improper maintenance
  • Damage caused by parts or accessories not intended for or compatible with our product
  • Damage caused by corrosion
  • Color changes due to sunlight, other environmental factors or cleaning products

What is wear and tear?

Some items get worn out through normal use or lack of care.  Examples include, without limitation: tires, brake pads, cables, bearings, tire spokes, saddle covers, grips, and pads.  Scratches, dings, and changes to paint or graphics also usually result from wear and tear.  Wear and tear is not covered by our warranty.

How do I make a claim, and what to expect?

Firstly, we value safety above all else. If the proper function of your bike has been compromised in any way, we advise you to stop using it immediately until it is safe to ride.

If you meet the criteria for the Guardian Bikes warranty and want to make a claim you can submit a request using the Contact Us form. We’ll need a detailed explanation of the issue as well as some photographs of the bike. Make sure it’s clean and the photos are clear.

If you aren’t an expert mechanic and aren’t sure of the problem don’t panic, our team will investigate the issue thoroughly.

One of our Guardian Bikes experts will be in touch to discuss your claim and outline any further steps required. During the warranty period, we will either repair the product or, at our option, replace it with the same product or a similar product then available. If any replacement parts or repairs are needed that aren’t covered by the warranty, we’ll contact you with our recommendation.

What about accessories?

Guardian Bikes accessories and spare parts are covered by a one-year warranty, unless stated otherwise.

The warranty only covers material and processing defects that already existed on delivery. It doesn’t cover wear and tear, misuse, improper assembly or installation, or damage caused by a collision, drop or similar external force.  Accessories supplied by third parties are not covered.

THIS IS A FULL AND COMPLETE STATEMENT OF GUARDIAN BIKES’ WARRANTY FOR OUR PRODUCTS. NO REPRESENTATION OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND BY ANYONE SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY REGARDING OUR PRODUCTS.  IN NO EVENT SHALL GUARDIAN BIKES BE LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES. GUARDIAN BIKES’ LIABILITY UNDER THIS WARRANTY SHALL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW BE NO GREATER THAN THE AMOUNT OF THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE.  THIS LIMITATION DOES NOT EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY CAUSED BY GUARDIAN BIKES’ NEGLIGENCE. Some states or other jurisdictions, including New Jersey, do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or warranties, so the above limitations or exclusions may not apply.
