I was expecting a fully assembled bike as advertised, other than the additional seat and training wheels. However, it arrived and the handlebars and pedals needed assembly. I ordered for a birthday party and I opened last minute as to not ruin the surprise hoping it would be ridable when opened. Luckily, my son wasn't aware and was distracted by his piñata. I had a friend come by a couple days later to complete assembly and we needed a tool that was not included. I'm not sure how I feel about the size and rideability yet. I'm still thinking about whether this purchase was worth the hefty price. The reflector lights on the spokes and handlebars are very loose and I'm not sure if it's how they should be but I don't want to strip the screws. I plan on contacting customer service.

The bicycle shipped quickly and the box arrived in good condition. The claim of an Easy 5 Minute Setup was not accurate with our bike. Upon taking it out of the box I noticed the cones on the front axle were way too tight. You could feel each bearing index as the wheel turned. I removed the axle and re-packed the bearings to prevent damage to the hub race. Reinstalled the axle and properly adjusted it to roll smoothly. Also had to readjust the rear brake pads because they were contacting the sidewall of the tire instead of the rim. Once my son had been on it for about 15 minutes the freewheel backed off the hub and into the rear drop out, causing the wheel to lock up. Had to carry the bike home and I spend another 40 minutes going over it, to include properly torquing the freewheel. Now that it’s setup it rides great and my son loves it! If you’re not comfortable or familiar working on bicycles you may want to take it to a bike shop to have everything checked and adjusted so it’s safe and fun for your little one.

The experience of ordering and the receiving the shipment so quickly was great. However the pedal is constantly hitting the chain cover and that is annoying. I'll contact the Guardian bikes and update this review accordingly. Hopefully this problem can be resolved without the need of returning the bike.

The assembly of the actual bike was very easy. We purchased training wheels and the left training wheel went on very easily. We spent hours trying to get the nut off of the right side of the bike to install the right training wheel. We reached out to support without any response. We ended up having to hold a blow dryer to the nut for 45 minutes before we could get it to budge. Now that she’s riding the bike, the chain keeps falling off. Hoping this resolves as she gets more comfortable with the pedals. She loves the look of the bike and the sizing is perfect.

It sounds like the training wheels are too far forward. This will cause the chain to be loose. Stand at the back of the bike and pull the training wheels back more. This will tighten up the chain.
