Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose the right size helmet for my child?
Measure your child’s head circumference approximately one inch above their eyebrows. Compare the measurement to the size chart to select the correct size.
How should a helmet fit on my child?
The front of the helmet should sit two finger widths above their eyebrows, the straps should form a “V” shape just under the ear, and you should be able to fit 1-2 fingers between your child's chin and the strap.
How do I adjust the fit of the helmet?
Your helmet comes with an adjustable dial at the back for a customized fit. Make sure the dial is snug but comfortable, and adjust the side straps and chin buckle accordingly.
Do all your helmets have MIPS technology?
Most helmets sold on our website come equipped with MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) technology. To confirm, please check the features section for each specific helmet model and size.

The Scamp II is Giro's smallest helmet designed for young (or future) riders but it still goes big with features and style. This lightweight in-mold helmet features impact-dissipating EPS foam with a sturdy polycarbonate shell, plus 13 vents for efficient cooling power. The Roc Loc® Junior fit system provides extra adjustability with a simple-to-use dial for several years of head protection for fast-growing rippers.

Pro tip:
Another method is to use a piece of string to measure the circumference of the head, then simply use a ruler to measure the length of the string.
Compare the measurement to the size chart to select the correct size.
