5 Ways to Hide a Large Gift
Don't Forget....
Hiding holiday gifts for your kids is just as important as checking off your holiday gift list. Depending on their age and personalities, hiding those gifts (especially large ones) can sometimes be very tricky so they don’t stumble upon them before the big day. To help, we’ve created a list of 5 ways to hide large gifts, such as bikes and doll-houses, in order to keep the holidays magical.
P.S. As you go above and beyond to hide your gifts this year, don’t forget to create a list of all your hiding spots.
#1 - Under Their Bed
One of the most overlooked hiding spots on our list is probably this one. Whether it be spooky monsters or a place they shove all their dirty laundry, under their bed is the perfect spot to hide your gifts. Hiding them right under their noses almost always works, because they never think to look there.
Tip: If you’re hiding smaller gifts, stashing them in THEIR closet is also a great spot they will never suspect!
#2 - In the Attic/Basement
Attics and basements are scary for your kids, especially to be sneaking around in without an adult. With enough space to hide a large gift, and a spot your kids would rather not go, these two spots make for the perfect spot to stash your gifts until that special day.
To be extra careful, stack items on top of or around your gifts. Even in the spookiest of places you can never be too careful with curious kiddos.
#3 - At the Office
Having gifts delivered to your office and keeping them there (if you can) is always a great option for hard-to-hide gifts. Out of sight, out of mind.
Nosy kiddos won’t see them being delivered or ever be able to find them, and you can relax knowing your gifts are safe. -Just don’t forget to pick them up before the big day!
#4 - A Neighbors
If the first three options don't work for your home environment, try this one. Asking a neighbor, friend, or family member to help keep your gift stashed away is always great in order to keep your gifts a surprise.
Just make sure they are kept in a spot your curious kiddo doesn't go snooping around in and asking questions!
#5 - A Mislabeled Box
One of our favorite and sneakiest ways to hide large gifts is to trick your kids altogether. If you’ve got the resources, find a different box for your gift to hide in, tape it up, and label the box, “tax receipts” or “mom’s high school memories.”
Hide it in plain sight in the garage, a closet, or the storage shed and they will never suspect you’ve been tricking them the whole time.
Number 1 Tip
No matter where you decide to hide your gifts make sure to mix it up! If you hide your gifts in the same spot year after year your kids may be on to you. Don’t get set in your ways. If you decide to hide gifts under the bed one year, change it up and choose one of these other great options the next year.
You’ve got enough to worry about during the holidays. Keeping your gifts hidden shouldn't be one of them!
